Steam Decks, Thinkpads, and Medication

Welcome to the second newsletter instalment. In this edition, I'll be talking about my recent investments and some real life occurences. So without further ado... let's begin!

Oh, and apologies for the lateness. Honestly couldn't be bothered lol

How's the Deck?

I've had my Steam Deck for a month now, and honestly it's still holding up pretty well. It's great for playing games when you're away from home, and it does it the best over all.

My only problem with it is finding games to play (turns out I mostly play FPS games lol) but honestly I'd still recommend it for anyone willing to buy it.

New Thinkpad Acquired

In March, I found a listing for a Thinkpad X230 on eBay. Seeing that it had a X220 keyboard mod (adding a keyboard from an older model) and a BIOS modification, I knew this was a once-loved passion project and decided to take it into my own hands.

Currently, the upgrades pending are installing all the custom firmware to make the keyboard properly work, and I've bought a replacement screen to replace this shitty TN panel with a nice IPS panel. Looking forward to that update.

For the three people paying attention...

If you've paid any amount of consistent attention to my postings here in the past 9 months, you've probably heard of a character called Freezer. She was my girlfriend and, as you can probably tell from the past tense "was", we broke up recently.

Is what it is I guess lol. We both agreed it's for the best and there's no hard feelings, we're still friends and you'll still see her post here probably, maybe if she wants.

I feel silly mentioning it here :P but what's a newsletter if it's not keeping you up to date?

Medication

The titration process for my ADHD medication begins on the 15th April, which means I'll very shortly actually start medication. I'm quite excited for it!

In my experience I've only ever had one med, so I have no idea what any other option they'll give me will do, if anything different at all. Will keep you updated on how I feel during and after this process!

How's the website?

A few changes have been made to fridg3.org, including one major and a few minor updates.

The most notable update is the view on mobile devices. Mobile users (and users with small horizontal space) will be prompted to switch to the mobile site at m.fridg3.org, which has an updated side bar designed for optimal vertical space. You can also switch to the mobile view automatically in Settings.

Some other minor updates include allowing admin users to manage accounts, and some other pretty unimportant stuff.

Thanks for reading the second issue, and have a good day! See you next time :)
